Children's Domestic Abuse Support Service

Children's Domestic Abuse Support Service (CDASS) was established to address the significant gap in support services for children who are victims of domestic abuse. Recognizing that children often suffer in silence, with limited resources to help them cope, CDASS provides tailored, online, and child-centred support.

Talking Really Helps
Programme

Talking Really Helps is an eight-week talk
therapy programme for children and young
people aged 7 to 16 affected by domestic
abuse. Delivered online at home or school, it provides a safe space to process emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies.

The programme includes educational awareness about domestic abuse—its nature, impact, and recognizing unhealthy behaviours—along with safety planning and opportunities for positiveinteraction with mothers to rebuild trust.

Through engaging weekly sessions,
participants are supported in healing,
practicing mindfulness, and improving any
negative behaviours, with the goal of helping them feel better than when they initially started.

Child Impact Awareness Training

The Child Impact Awareness Programme is an online group or one-to-one programme designed for mothers, carers, and professionals who want to better understand domestic abuse and its devastating effects on child victims.

The programme equips participants with the basic knowledge to identify the signs and symptoms of abuse, such as behavioural changes, emotional distress, and developmental challenges, which may often go unnoticed.

It also provides practical tools and strategies to effectively manage and reduce the impact of abuse on children, fostering a more supportive and nurturing environment for their recovery.

By raising awareness and promoting informed, proactive intervention, this programme empowers attendees to play a critical role in safeguarding and supporting the well-being of children affected by domestic abuse.

Child Impact
Awareness Talk

The NSPCC reports that 1 in 5 children are exposed to domestic abuse. The Child Impact Awareness Talk is a short school presentation, offered both online and in person, specifically designed for school students aged 7 to 16.

This engaging and age-appropriate talk educates students about the effects of being exposed to domestic abuse, including its emotional, psychological, and social impact.

It also empowers young people by providing clear guidance on what to do and how to seek help if they or someone they know is experiencing abuse at home.

By fostering awareness and encouraging open conversations, the talk aims to break the silence around domestic abuse and connect students with the support and resources they need to feel safe and supported.

The Abuser Impact Programme

The Abuser Impact Programme is a four-week, two-hour programme designed to help abusers recognise the devastating impact of their violence on the family home.

Participants are encouraged to confront the harmful effects of their actions and reflect on the underlying causes of their behaviour, including the influence of childhood experiences and family dynamics.

Delivered online, the programme fosters self-awareness, accountability, and personal responsibility, offering abusers the opportunity to acknowledge the need for change and seek further professional support to address and challenge their violent behaviour.

We're dedicated to creating lasting change.

The service ensures that children and young people
who have experienced domestic abuse receive the
emotional support, education, and empowerment
they need to heal, build resilience, and prevent the
long-term effects of abuse.

Accessible from anywhere in the UK, CDASS also
offers online impact awareness programmes on the
negative impact of domestic abuse for parents,
carers, school students, and even the violent abuser.
These programmes aim to foster understanding,
promote healthier relationships, and encourage
positive change.

CDASS is dedicated to creating lasting change by
equipping families, schools, and communities with
the tools to support children and break the cycle of
abuse.
